Get Out! Jazz Swings into Town For Memorial Day Weekend
Get out and enjoy yourself this long weekend. Polo returns to The Glen, while jazz livens up the vineyard this weekend.

On this traditional, unofficial opening of the summer season, there's so much you can do from honoring veterans to heading to the beach or a cookout, live music or polo.
Here are a few things we've rounded up for you to do this Memorial Day weekend:
- Polo Returns
When/Where: Glen Farm, 715 East Main Road, Portsmouth, May 28, 5 p.m.
Why Go: This is the unofficial opening match of the 20th season of polo at Glen Farm, and benefits the charitable causes of the Newport Rotary Club. Hosted by the Newport Polo Club, the match features the home team, Newport, playing against a regional challenger in a classic six-chukker duel. Pricing: $10; free for kids under 12
- Jazz at the Vineyard
When/Where: Saturday, May 28, 1 p.m.-4 p.m., Greenvale Vineyards, 582 Wapping Road, Portsmouth.
Why Go: Pack your picnic lunch and enjoy jazz and wine - what a great combination! No reservations are necessary.
Pricing: $15 for the jazz, six wine tastings and glass.
- Annie: The Musical
When/Where: Friday and Saturday, May 27 adm 28, 7 p.m., Portsmouth Middle School
Why Go: "Annie" is one of the most beloved and popular family-friendly Broadway musicals of all time. The show is the All Saints Academy's selection for this year's annual spring musical production. The event comes after months and months of auditions, rehearsals, wig fittings and singing about the "the hard-knock life" and how "the sun will come out tomorrow."
Pricing: Tickets are on sale now at $6 each and may be purchased by calling 848-4300 or at the door.
- Little Compton Photography Show
When/Where:Â Little Compton Community Center, the Commons. Preview Show is Friday, May 27, 6 to 8 p.m. Photography Exhibit Saturday, May 28, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.; Sunday, May 29, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.; Monday, May 30, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Why Go:Â It's a perfect weekend to poke around Little Compton and see the great things going on at the Community Center, including this three-day photography show.
Pricing:Â Â Preview on Friday, requested donation is $5; admission is free Saturday, Sunday and Monday.
