Great Escape: Claim Your Cafe Reading Nook

The kids are out, dinner is a done deal and you find a few minutes just for you. "March Into Reading" month reminds us how great it can be to sit with a nice cup of coffee or tea and reconnect with that nightstand companion, uninterrupted by housework, pets, kids or digital age distractions.

For me, it's all about finding that little coffee shop corner to escape with a great book.

This Week's Great Escape: Quiet Cafe Time

: This cafe with a modern retro diner feel offers food, pastries and assortment of beverages that are the perfect companions to kick back with a great read.

My favorites? Try the pastry wrapped tomatoes and those yummy cookies that remind me of what grandma made for special occasions.

What I like most about Provencal is that while the bakery is hopping at meal times and there's steady traffic all day, I've always felt kind of tucked away and unhasseled. 

While it's not "off the beaten path" per se, it kind of feels like it is. For an hour or two, I can just read, relax and eat some good food which, to me, is always a nice luxury package.
