Grow Big or Grow Home: Landscapers Prep for RI Flower Show
The Rhode Island Spring Flower and Garden Show will be held this weekend, Feb. 23 to 26, at the Rhode Island Convention Center.
If you (gasp) actually leave Aquidneck Island and head to the Rhode Island Spring Flower and Garden Show this weekend, you might see a familiar name or two.Â
Portsmouth's own landscapers are hoping to "grow" a few prizes at New England's premiere flower show, which runs Thursday through Sunday at the Rhode Island Convention Center.Â
"We're displaying the work we do outside of the store," said Doug Domina, owner of Domina's Agway, who has exhibited at the flower show for about six years. "We're trying to showcase what we're capable of and what someone would like in their own backyard."Â

Domina, along with his wife and son, Marc, also own and operate a landscaping business outside of the store. A sneak peek of their 2012 flower show exhibit can be seen in the photo above.Â
Other Portsmouth businesses exhibiting at this year's show, whose theme is "Simple Pleasures," are All Island Landscape, DeCastro Landscaping and Green Systems.Â
