Historian Explains Portsmouth Founding 375 Years Ago

Jim Garman spoke about the Portsmouth Compact at Town Hall on Thursday, exactly 375 years to the day after it was signed. 

Garman, a local historian and Portsmouth Abbey teacher, discusses the important document in the video above. 

The discussion was part of the 375th Portsmouth Compact ceremony held at Town Hall. Hundreds attended the celebration of the town's founding. 

Garman also gave a lecture on Thursday night at the Portsmouth Free Public Library. The event was sold out. A second lecture is being planned for later this month.
