Isner to Play Mahut in Campbell's Hall of Fame Tennis Championships

In a blockbuster day two at the , the top-3 seeds advanced to the second round, Americans in competition went 5-0, and John Isner secured yet another match with Frenchman Nicolas Mahut, who he famously defeated after an epic 3-day Wimbledon match in 2010.

"We can't avoid each other on grass," Newport's defending champion Isner joked about his pairing against Mahut.

After the 2010 Wimbledon battle, both Isner and Mahut donated their racquets and other memorabilia from the longest match in tennis history to the International Tennis Hall of Fame and Museum, where it is now displayed. Isner and Mahut's fourth meeting will take place on Center Court tomorrow, where it will be the third match on court. Play begins at 11 a.m., and the complete order of play is listed below.

The tournament's No. 2 & 3 seeds, Kei Nishikori and Milos Raonic were also triumphant in today's round 1 matches.

Nishikori, the No. 1 player for Japan, defeated Igor Sijsling in straight sets, and Raonic, Canada's No. 1, went three sets against Australian Matt Ebden, winning 3-6, 6-3, 7-5.

Tim Smyczek, Benjamin Baker, and Izak Van Der Merwe, who all qualified for the tournament, pulled off some upsets to advance to round 2. Smyczek knocked off No. 4 seed Denis Istomin, Baker defeated top-60 player David Goffin, and Van Der Merwe won over No. 8 seed Gilles Muller.

There were five American players in competition today, and all five have advanced to the next round. Results from Round 1 and Order of Play from Round 2 are listed below.
