  Why Go:  Sponsored by the Democratic Town Committee but classic Rhode Island fun for all!

• AMERICAN LEGION AUXILIARY PASTA DINNER
  When/Where:  7 Valley Road, Middletown, April 30, 5 to 7 p.m.
  Why Go: Support the charitable works of the American Legion Auxiliary Unit 18, Portsmouth. Dinner catered by Oceanside Cafe. Cash bar, auctions, raffles.
  Pricing: $15

• ALICE IN WONDERLAND JR.
  When/Where: St. Philomena School Auditorium, 324 Cory's Lane, April 29 at 7 p.m.; April 30, 1 and 7 p.m.; and May 1 at 1 p.m.
  Why Go:  If you're looking for something to do with the kids this weekend, go check out the local talent over at St. Phil's, with this production of Alice in Wonderland Junior.
  Pricing: Adults $10; Children 12 and under $5; available in advance by calling the school at 683-0268, or at the door.

• AQUIDNECK ISLAND NATIONAL POLICE PARADE
  Where/When: Sunday, May 1, steps off at 11:50 a.m. at the Hampton Inn, 317 West Main Road, Middletown and proceeds to the Newport Police Department at 120 Broadway.
  Why Go: You will be impressed - and it's a great family event. Thousands of officers from around the country, and locally, take part in this tribute to fallen officers and those who serve and protect.
  Price: Free

• ORCHID AUCTION AT BLITHEWOLD
  When/Where: Blithewold Mansions, Gardens and Arboretum, 101 Ferry Road, Bristol, Saturday, April 30. Preview Time 10 a.m. - Auction starting at 10:30 a.m.
  Why Go:  Enjoy the sweet scents and beauty of orchids at the Ocean State Orchid Society (OSOS) Auction of Orchids.
  Pricing: Free for Blithewold and OSOS Members.
  Included with regular Mansion admission for non-members.

• ABBEY RHODE AT GREENVALE VINEYARDS
  When/Where:  Friday, April 29,  Greenvale Vineyards, 582 Wapping Road, Portsmouth, doors open at 7 p.m. and the show is at 7:30 p.m.
  Why Go:  Sip some wine and take a trip back in time and enjoy Beatles music by this Newport-based tribute Band.
  Pricing:  $25 door, $25 advance.
