Lifeguard Chairs Vandalized At Portsmouth Sandy Point Beach

Portsmouth police are asking for the public's help in identifying who vandalized several lifeguard chairs at Sandy Point Beach.

PORTSMOUTH, RI — Portsmouth Police are looking for the public's help in identifying who vandalized several lifeguard stands at Sandy Point Beach over the past few weeks. A photo from Portsmouth Police shows a chair knocked over onto the sand.

This isn't the first time the beach has been vandalized. Last August, police posted photos of several lifeguard chairs that were knocked over and dragged into the water.

"To those that think it’s a good idea to steal and dump lifeguard chairs in the water, you are creating a danger to the boating community, you will be prosecuted," the department wrote at the time.
