Rhode Island State Senator Chris Ottiano and Representative Jay Edwards were my guests on Friday's edition of Portsmouth this Week, discussing the progress of the Special Legislative Commission on Infrastructure Funding (aka the Toll Commission). Both are members of this 9-person Commission, tasked to provide recommendations for a plan to fund Rhode Island's bridge and road infrastructure to the General Assembly by 15 January, 2014. The commission is still in the fact-finding mode and at their last meeting on 20 November, received a presentation on various strategies used by other states across the country to fund their highway and bridge infrastructure.
