Massachusetts Wind Turbine Noise Hearing June 6 2017

Currently, MassDEP does not regulate these unique noise characteristics, even though they are making people in Massachusetts sick. Current noise assessment procedures merely require the quantification of the acoustical phenomena that are audible to human hearing (hence the dBA unit).

This bill makes clear that MassDEP's power to regulate noise extends to low frequency noise, infrasound, and aerodynamic amplitude modulation. This bill is needed to protect the health and safety of people in Massachusetts. Urge the Committee Chairs to report this bill out of committee.
