Ann Louise (Hannafin) Hatzberger, 92, of Portsmouth died on her birthday, Monday, September 21, 2015 at Newport Hospital.

Ann Louise (Hannafin) Hatzberger, 92, of Portsmouth died on her birthday, Monday, September 21, 2015 at Newport Hospital in Newport. She was the wife of the late William Francis Hatzberger, Jr. Born on September 21, 1923 in Lowell, MA, she was the daughter of the late William George and Anna Christine (Grenath) Hannafin.
Mrs. Hatzberger worked at the OCS Galley on the Naval Base for 20 years, retiring in 1975. She was a communicant of St. Barnabas Church, a member of the Portsmouth Senior Center and the Catholic Daughters of America. She was a den mother for the Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts in Portsmouth, and a Catechism teacher at Elmhurst. Ann was an avid reader, loved cross-stitch, line dancing and playing bingo. She always found great joy spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is survived by her children Patricia A. Duponte of Portsmouth, William Francis Hatzberger III of Brooklyn, CT, James Hatzberger of Warwick, Michael Hatzberger of Tiverton, Karen Toppa of Middletown, Mark Hatzberger and Maureen Arruda, both of Portsmouth, 15 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. She was the sister of the late Alice Lunderville and Marguerite Manning.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, September 25 from 5:00-8:00pm in Connors Funeral Home, 55 West Main Road, Portsmouth, RI.
Her funeral will be held on Saturday, September 26 at 9:00am from the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 in St. Barnabas Church, 1697 East Main Road, Portsmouth. Burial will be in Newport Memorial Park, Howland Avenue, Middletown.
