William A. Wiant III, of Portsmouth, RI, died peacefully at his home on September 28, 2015.

William A. Wiant III, of Portsmouth, RI, died peacefully at his home on September 28, 2015.
He was the husband of Deborah (Dugan) Wiant.
Born on June 28, 1951 in Buffalo, NY, he was the son of Allen J. and Jeanne (Cushing) Wiant of Austin, TX.

He was a graduate of Indiana University’s School of Music and an accomplished organist. He recently served as Choir Director and Organist for Holy Trinity Church in Tiverton, RI, was adjunct faculty for the Music Department at Salve Regina University, and Music Director and Organist at The Chapel of Hope on the Newport Naval Base for 25 years. Bill shard his musical talents and was a respected piano teacher to many local children. He was a member of the American Guild of Organists.
Besides his wife, Bill is survived by a son, Scott S. Wiant and his wife, Tanja, of Louisville, CO; a brother, Steven Wiant (Beth) of Cranston, RI, and sisters, Susan Weaver (James) of Austin Texas and Sally Fager (Jeff) of Mt. Pleasant, IO, two granddaughters Lyra and Zoe Wiant and several nieces and nephews.

The memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 10, 2015, at 10AM at Holy Trinity Church, 1956 Main Road, Tiverton, RI.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to VNS Hospice of Newport & Bristol Counties, 1184 East Main Road, Portsmouth, RI 02871.
