Photos: Kenya Polo Team Wins Against USA 14-10 In Front of Thousands

A large crowd, believed to be more than 3,000 spectators, packed the Glen Farm polo fields this weekend to watch the international match between Kenya and team USA.

Kenya triumphed against team USA at its official debut at the Newport International Polo Series on Saturday, July 2.

The final score was 14-10 in a tightly-pitted match that featured Kenyan's top players Casimir Gross, Brian Perry, Quentin Savage and Henry Limb.

Polo in Kenya has been around for nearly 100 years, with four main clubs around the country that enjoy the sport for six months each year.

The match was heavily-attended by a crowd believed to be in excess of 3,000 spectators. Many tents were seen surrounding the polo fields.

The next match will feature team Newport vs. Dallas on Saturday, July 9, at 5 p.m. in the new City Series.The new series, launched in this anniversary season, features challengers from around the United States, playing in a classic six-chukker match against the home team.
