Photos: Prudence Island Resident Sells Handmade Ornaments at Holiday Preview

Bristol merchants kicked off the shopping season with the Holiday Preview Friday night.

Downtown Bristol's sidewalks were crammed full of people on Friday night for the annual Holiday Preview put on by the Downtown Bristol Merchants Association.

Customers and business owners alike say they look forward to the event every year for a chance to mingle with their friends and sip on some wine.

"We've been getting a lot of traffic," said Manny Canario, co-owner of . "We weren't sure what to expect because we did really well last year, but we've been selling a lot so far. It is going very well."

But it wasn't just jewelery that was causing a selling frezy. There were lines of people in almost every store waiting to purchase gifts for themselves or others.
