Police Charge Driver with DUI After Vehicle Rollover; Driver Transported to Hospital
Ryan McLeod, 28, of Swansea, MA, was transported to Newport Hospital Friday night after a single vehicle rollover on Route 24 North. McLeon sustained non-life threatening injuries, but was later charged with DUI.

Portsmouth Fire and Rescue responded Friday to a single-vehicle car crash on Route 24 North near Boyd's Lane around 10:25 p.m.
The vehicle, a 1998 Jeep Cherokee, was traveling north on Route 24 when the Jeep collided with a light pole in the area of Boyd's Lane. The vehicle then struck a guardrail and rolled over onto its roof just north of the guardrail, according to Lt. Brian Peters of the Portsmouth Police Department.
The vehicle's operator, 28-year-old Ryan McLeod of Swansea, MA, was transported by ambulance to Newport Hospital for treatment of injuries. According to police, the injuries are non-life threatening "to the best of my knowledge," Peters said Saturday.

McLeod was later charged with driving under the influence (DUI).
