Police Log: Connecticut Woman Allegedly Strikes Man

Connecticut woman allegedly hits man

Tracy Nilson, 37, of Sterling, CT, was arrested Monday at 6 p.m. after allegedly refusing to leave an apartment on Almeida Terrace.

Police were called to Almeida Terrace for a report of an unwanted party. A 40-year-old man told police Nilson was at the residence, but refused to leave when asked. 

She apparently left before police arrived and went to another apartment in the area.

The man also sustained bruising around his eye and on both arms. The man told police Nilson had struck him. 

She was arrested after being located at another apartment. 

Nilson was charged with domestic, wilfull trespass; and domestic, simple assault. She was also wanted on a Third District Court bench warrant for failure to appear at arraignment. She was brought to court in the morning. 

Warwick man arrested after allegedly leaving scene of accident

David Tingle, 46, of Warwick, was arrested by Warwick police on Monday at 7 p.m. and transported to Portsmouth. Tingle was wanted on an affidavit arrest warrant issued for a vehicle crash on June 17. 

Police say a vehicle, operated by Tingle, sideswiped another vehicle at the corner of East Main Road and Glen Road. A 34-year-old East Providence woman operated the second vehicle. 

The vehicle, operated by Tingle, fled the scene. The other operater was able to take down a license plate number. 

Tingle was later arrested in Warwick and held overnight at the Portsmouth police station.
