Police Log: Man Arrested As 'Fugitive of Justice'

Portsmouth man arrested as "fugitive of justice"
George McClain, 27, of 2121 West Main Road, Apt. 206, was arrested Saturday at 1:15 a.m. after a motor vehicle stop on West Main Road. The vehicle was stopped for having its tail and license plate lights out.

McClain was allegedly driving on a suspended license. He was also wanted as a "fugitive of justice" by Somerset police on the charge of larceny.
He was arrested and held over the weekend at the Adult Correctional Institutions (ACI). He was arraigned this morning in district court.

Man allegedly breaks garage door opener
George Korolenko, 44, of Portsmouth, was arrested Saturday at 3:10 a.m. at his residence. Police were called to the residence for a report of a domestic disturbance.
Korolenko, in an attempt to access the home, allegedly damaged the garage door keypad, tearing the device from the wall.
As police attempted to handcuff Korolenko, he allegedly began to struggle and refused to comply with instructions, police said.
He was eventually arrested, and charged with domestic vandalism and resisting arrest. He was held overnight at the police station.
Massachusetts man allegedly caught speeding at 70 mph
A man from Foxboro, MA, was arrested Saturday after he allegedly drove in the wrong lane and was caught speeding at 70 mph.
Police were alerted to a vehicle operating erratically on East Main Road Saturday at around 6:30 p.m. The vehicle was traveling in the southbound lanes while going north on East Main Road.
The vehicle was observed turning onto Turnpike Avenue and then onto Route 24, where it was stopped by police after speeding at 70 mph, police said.
Police detected an aroma of alcohol on the vehicle's driver, 23-year-old Stephen Grendal.
Grendal failed a field sobriety test and, after being transported to police headquarters, failed a chemical test. He was arrested and charged with driving under the influence (DUI) and reckless driving.
Man allegedly slaps woman in face
Edward Relle, 60, of 106 Wilkey Ave., was arrested Saturday at 11:45 p.m. at his home.
Police were called to the Wilkey Avenue residence for a report of a domestic disturbance. Relle allegedly became involved in an argument with a 56-year-old Portsmouth woman. During the argument, Relle allegedly slapped her in the face with his hand.
Relle was arrested and charged with domestic, simple assault.
