Police Log: Man Arrested for Allegedly Punching Relative
A Portsmouth man turned himself in to police Tuesday after allegedly striking a family member with his fist.

Ryan Kirtland, 24, of Lakeville Avenue, was taken into custody Tuesday at 3:45 p.m. at the Portsmouth Police Department.
Kirtland was charged with domestic, simple assault.
The charge stems from an incident reported on Sunday. A 27-year-old male phoned police, and told officers that Kirtland had struck him with his fist and fled from the property.

The incident occurred around 3 a.m. Sunday. The suspect is a relative of the victim, police said.
A warrant was issued for Kirtland, who turned himself in to police on Tuesday. Kirtland appeared before a justice of the peace and was released on personal recognizance.

He is scheduled to appear for an arraignment Thursday at Second District Court.
