Police Log: Portsmouth Man Arrested for Allegedly Possessing Cocaine
Douglas Silvia, 48, of 26 Davey Lane, Portsmouth, was arrested on Friday, Nov. 19, and charged with possession of cocaine.

The following is a list of arrests made by the Portsmouth Police Department from Friday, Nov. 19, through Monday, Nov. 22. The information provided is based solely on police reports.
- Douglas Silvia, 48, of 26 Davey Lane, Portsmouth, was arrested on Friday, Nov. 19, and charged with possession of cocaine and driving a motor vehicle with a suspended license. Police say they stopped a vehicle driven by Silvia on Friday evening on a traffic violation—crossing over the center line divider. Police arrested Silvia when they discovered his license was apparently suspended. Upon a search of the vehicle, police say they found two small baggies with a white powder inside. The baggies were found, according to police, attached to the sun visor mirror. A field test showed the powder tested positive for cocaine, police said. Silvia was transported to police headquarters, held overnight and arraigned on the charged.
- Justin Nelson, 21, of Lakeville, MA, was arrested on Saturday, Nov. 20, after he was seen allegedly operating a vehicle the wrong way against traffic on Route 24. Tiverton police alerted officers in Portsmouth to a vehicle, which was seen traveling south on Route 24 North on Saturday around 1 a.m. Several other vehicles on the roadway were forced to move out of the way. The vehicle eventually stopped at the end of Route 24 near West Main Road. Police say they observed a strong odor of alcohol on the driver's breathe. Nelson was brought back to the police headquarters, where he allegedly refused to submit to a chemical test. Nelson was charged with driving under the influence (DUI), reckless driving and refusal to submit to a chemical test.
- Danil Dejesus, 38, of Fall River, MA, was arrested on Saturday, Nov. 20, around 1:40 a.m. and charged with DUI. Police responded to a report of a vehicle operating erratically on West Main Road near Kings' Drive. Police say they observed the vehicle swerving on the roadway. Police say they observed a strong odor of alcohol on the operator's breathe. Dejesus failed a field sobriety test and later a chemical test at police headquarters, police said.
- Sandy Gallo, 41, of Wakefield, was arrested on Sunday, Nov. 21, at approximately 12:20 a.m. Gallo was charged with DUI and refusal to submit to a chemical test. Police were called to check the condition of a vehicle operator early Sunday morning. The vehicle was seen swerving on East Main Road at Berroth Court. Police say they observed a strong odor of alcohol on the driver's breathe. Gallo was arrested and brought back to police headquarters, where she allegedly refused to submit to a chemical test.
- Dylan Booth, 18, of Bristol, was arrested on Saturday, Nov. 20, at 11:10 p.m. and charged with possession of marijuana. Police stopped a vehicle operated by Booth on Saturday on Boyd's Lane. Police say the vehicle was seen crossing over the center lines. They also observed a strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. A small bag of marijuana was located within the vehicle, according to police, as well as marijuana paraphernalia: a pipe, grinder and marijuana cigarettes. Booth was placed under arrest, brought to police headquarters and released with a district court summons.
