Police Log: Portsmouth Man Charged With Simple Assault

Cameron Taylor, 19, of Dexter Street, was arrested Friday at approximately 8:15 p.m. at his residence. Taylor was charged with domestic, simple assault.

The arrest stemmed from an investigation into a reported incident.

A 19-year-old female resident of Portsmouth told officers that the suspect had struck her in the head, pushed her against a wall and pulled her hair, police said.

Officers from the Portsmouth Police Department responded to the suspect's house Friday and placed him under arrest.

Taylor was released after an appearance before a justice of the peace. He is scheduled to appear in court on Thursday for arraignment. A no contact order has been issued between the victim and the suspect.
