Police Log: Woman Allegedly Spits in Another Woman's Face

Woman allegedly spits at homeowner, kicks door
A Portsmouth woman was arrested Wednesday after allegedly spitting in the face of another woman and then kicking the home owner's door.

Police were called to a Dawn Marie Drive residence around 5:20 p.m. for an apparent disturbance.
Sheila Holmes, 47, of 63 Blackpoint Lane, allegedly became involved in an argument with a 38-year-old man and 34-year-old woman, both from Portsmouth.

During the argument, Holmes allegedly spit in the woman's face. The victim then closed the front door. Holmes then began allegedly kicking the screen and front door repeatedly, causing the screen door to rip.
She was arrested and charged with domestic vandalism; domestic, disorderly conduct; and simple assault.
She was later arraigned in front of a justice of the peace.
Two women allegedly fight outside Chinese restaurant
Rebecca Basiel, 28, of Fall River, was arrested Wednesday after an apparent argument outside the on East Main Road.
Police were called to the restaurant for an apparent disturbance. Basiel apparently got involved in an argument with a 24-year-old Fall River woman.
During the argument, Basiel allegedly grabbed the woman's cell phone and threw it on the ground.
She was arrested and charged with domestic vandalism.
Newport woman arrested on DUI charge
Virginia Leeman, 57, of Newport, was arrested Wednesday after a minor vehicle crash on Warley Street around 9:30 p.m.
Police were called to Warley Street for a report of a vehicle striking a parked car. No injuries were reported.
Police detected a strong aroma of alcohol coming from the driver, who was identified as Leeman. She apparently failed a field sobriety test and was transported to police headquarters, where she allegedly refused a chemical test.
She was charged with driving under the influence and refusal to submit to a chemical test.
