Portsmouth Firefighters Battle Beach Brush Fire

responded to a minor brush fire at Common Fence Point on May 31. No injuries were reported. 

A small brush fire was reported around 9 p.m. near the beach grass on Common Fence Boulevard, according to Deputy Chief Michael Cranson. 

The fire was extinguished within 15 minutes, but resulted in spectacular photos as seen above. "It was a pretty small fire," Cranson said. 

Crews from the Tiverton Fire Department also responded to assist.
