Portsmouth High Faculty Choose Jamie Ryan as 'Outstanding Senior'

The Portsmouth High School's teachers, administration and faculty have chosen Jamie Ryan as this year's "Outstanding Senior."
Ryan, 17, will give a speech at this Friday's commencement ceremony for Portsmouth High School. The faculty chooses one student speaker, while the students choose their own speaker for the event.
Ryan, the son of Linda Ujifusa and John Ryan, received four awards during the banquet on Monday night. He received the Portsmouth High School Outstanding Student, Outstanding Math Student, Excellence in Music and Excellence in English awards.

Ryan is a member of the math team, marching band, jazz ensemble, tennis team and serves as captain of the chess team. He plans to attend Harvard University, where he will study computer science.
