Portsmouth High Student Organizing Walk for Diabetes Research
Chris Beauregard's senior project, a walkathon to raise money for Type One Diabetes research, is April 8 at Portsmouth High.

PORTSMOUTH, RI—Chris Beauregard, student at Portsmouth High, hosts a Walkathon next weekend to raise money for juvenile diabetes research. The event, which is his senior project, is set for April 8 from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.
The cause is close to home, he said.
"My mother was diagnosed with type one diabetes when she was 14 years old, and this is something she must cope with for the rest of her life," he said. He's trying to raise money for a cure and to support "all those who have type one diabetes as well as people who face the complications of this ailment."
