Portsmouth: It's Time to Help Shovel Out Neighbors with Special Needs

The Portsmouth Fire Department is asking the public to step up and help each other out.

The Portsmouth Fire Department has received several calls Wednesday morning from elderly and disabled residents who can’t get out of their houses from the snow.

As a result, firefighters are heading out ”to do what we can,” said Dep. Fire Chief Michael P. O’Brien “but any assistance from neighbors would make a huge difference.”

O’Brien said he’s certain other communities across Rhode Island are in a similar situation.
