Portsmouth Man Charged with DUI After Leaving Car in Snow Bank
Police said the 20-year-old left his car blocking the road and stuck in a snow bank after an accident.
Portsmouth police charged a local man with driving under the influence after they found his car resting on a snow bank and blocking the road during a snowstorm at around 12:40 a.m. on Wednesday.
The inside of the car smelled like alcohol and the keys were still in the ignition when police responded to the intersection of Sandy Point Avenue and Adams Drive after a report of an accident, according to a police report.
Police went to the home of the registered owner and found Kevin James Medeiros, 20, of 75 Adams Drive, Portsmouth, who told officers that he had been drinking “hours ago” and was driving home when he hit a patch of black ice and crashed into the snow bank.
