Portsmouth Police Log: Officers Nab Several This Weekend for DUIs, Warrants
Police arrests made in town this past weekend.

The following is a roundup of police arrests made in town this past weekend from Saturday, Aug. 7, to today, Aug. 10. The information provided is based solely on police reports.
- Maria Patricia Duque, 55, of 230 South Main St., Apt. 17, Providence, was arrested following a traffic stop Saturday morning at the East Main Road and Sandy Point Avenue intersection. Duque was arrested around 9:13 a.m. She was wanted on a bench warrant issued from Sixth District Court.
- Manuel Duponte, 60, of Long Meadow Road, was arrested early Sunday morning at his residence. Police responded to the house to investigate a report of a domestic disturbance. Duponte was later arrested and charged with domestic simple assault and battery.
- Christopher Alan Durand, 36, of 92 Kickemuit Road, Warren, was arrested early Sunday following a traffic stop at the East Main Road and Church Lane intersection. Police stopped the vehicle driven by Durand around 12:56 a.m. Durand was charged with driving under the influence (DUI), first offense, and refusal to submit to a chemical test.
- Kyle James Mitchell, 18, of 745 Union St., was arrested on a warrant early Sunday around 6:13 a.m. at 16 Warcam Way, according to the police report. The arrest warrant was issued for previous charges. Mitchell was initially charged with breaking and entering a building or ship during daytime and larceny under $500.
- Justin Joseph Daniels, 21, of 628 Park Ave., Apt. 2, was arrested on a bench warrant Sunday around 7:43 p.m. at his house. The warrant was issued by Sixth District Court.
- Kenneth Daniel Souza, 41, of 23 Sunset Boulevard, Newport, was arrested on a bench warrant Sunday following a traffic stop around 10:16 p.m. at West Main Road and Turkey Hill. The warrant was issued by Sixth District Court.
- Barry Whalen Dunn, 53, of 250 Meadow Lane, Middletown, was arrested Monday around 10:49 p.m. on the Mount Hope Bridge. Police were called to the bridge to check the condition of a vehicle operator. Dunn was arrested and charged with DUI, first offense, and refusal to submit to a chemical test.
