Portsmouth Water and Fire District Annual Election Coming Up

Save the date: the annual election of officers for the Portsmouth Water and Fire District is June 10.

Polls open at 7 a.m. at the district’s main office at 1944 East Main Road.

Four positions are open on the seven-member board: tax collector, treasurer and two tax assessors.

Running for tax collector is Frederick W. Faerber III of 271 Sprague Street. Faerber is also a member of the Portsmouth School Committee.

Running for treasurer is Allen J. Shers, of 40 Roger Williams Court. Shers has run for Portsmouth Town Council as an independent.

Running for the position of tax assessor are Theodore T. Czech of 120 Roger Williams Court and Michael W. Nott of 118 Rhode Island Blvd.

ID is required to vote in the election.
