Portsmouth Woman Unhurt After Her Car Crashes into Tiverton Dunkin' Donuts

A car crashed into the side facade of the Dunkin' Donuts at 496 Main Road in Tiverton at 12:24 p.m. on Friday. No injuries were reported.

A Portsmouth woman is home unscathed after her car crashed into the side of Dunkin' Donuts at 496 Main Road in Tiverton early Friday afternoon.

According to Tiverton Police Lt. Patrick Jones, a 2000 gray Nissan Sentra, operated by Marie Capobianco, 59, of 204 Heritage Drive, Portsmouth, ran into a trash bin and the side glass door at Dunkin' Donuts at approximately 12:24 p.m.

"She was uninjured and transported to her residence in Portsmouth," Jones said. "The damage is not structural and just to the front glass facade."

Jones said the building inspector arrived and determined the building was still safe for business. The Nissan could be seen parked next to the store with minimal front-end damage to itself.

Jones said they are still investigating the crash as to whether the crash was mechanical or an error by the operator.

Fire Lt. Peter Manchester said the manager at Dunkin' Donuts would be able to get the damaged section repaired by the end of the day Friday.

It is unknown how many customers and employees were inside at the time. No injuries were reported.
