PORTSMOUTH, RI — A public hearing requesting approval for a sound variance to the Portsmouth Noise Ordinance by the Narragansett Electric Company was rescheduled to Feb. 13 at the town council meeting, officials said Tuesday.

The request was for a sound variance to the Portsmouth Noise Ordinance by the Narragansett Electric Company for the Aquidneck Island Reliability Project for noise that may be generated by the operation of portable liquefied natural gas equipment at 111 Old Mill Lane.
