Scouting for Food - Helping neighbors in need for 33 years

Since 1988 the Scouts of the Narragansett Council have helped feed families in need by collecting nearly 10 million pounds of food!

The ongoing COVID-19 health crisis has increased the demand for food in our area by 50%. This year, more than ever, our neighbors need our help.

This Saturday morning, October 30th, local Scouts will be walking door to door placing yellow door hangers across neighborhoods of Aquidneck Island residents for the Narragansett Council's Annual Scouting For Food Drive. Please place canned and boxed goods in a bag, attach the door hanger, and place it outside your front door or where the door hanger was left by 9:00 am on Saturday, November 6th when Scouts return to collect donations.

Many organizations have faced challenges this last few years, including the Rhode Island Community Food Bank and local food banks. Food donations will benefit the Rhode Island Community Food Bank and local food pantries. Your donations feed more than 59,000 Rhode Islanders each month, one third of them children. According to the Rhode Island Food Bank the following items are in greatest need:

Canned Tuna
