Sea Meadow Farms Association Raises Safety Concerns after Fatal Accident
After a fatal accident last week, residents say now is the time to increase safety measures in Sea Meadow Farms.

Residents in Sea Meadow Farms are calling upon town officials to improve road safety measures in the wake of a fatal pedestrian accident last week.
In a letter to the town, including the highway and police departments, the Sea Meadow Farms Association said the accident, which took the life of an 83-year-old woman who was struck by a car, is a “call to action.”
The residents are asking for a center stripe to be painted on the roads, especially at the turns of the winding drive.

“The curve at the north end of Lambie Circle is especially hazardous because pine trees obscure the view of oncoming vehicles,” the letter stated.
The other suggestion is to increase the visibility of the “keep right” sign at the Sea Meadow entrance on East Main Road.

“This could be accomplished by simply applying reflective paint or tape to the sign post and/or increasing the wattage of the street light on East Main Road,” the letter stated.
The letter, signed by JoEllen Hunt, secretary of Sea Meadow Farms Association, commended town officials for recent efforts to slow traffic in nearby Spinnaker Run with new yellow “slow” signs and a flashing speed limit sign.
“Similarly, your attention to Sea Meadow residents’ safety concerns is needed and would be greatly appreciated.
The Town Council will review the letter on Monday night.
