PORTSMOUTH, RI — Portsmouth has preserved a 1776 copy of the Declaration of Independence. The Historical Society and Town Hall are showing it to the public on Thursday at 5:30 p.m. Everyone's invited to see it at Portsmouth Town Hall, 2200 East Main Road, Portsmouth, 02871.
