Our guest on Friday's edition of Portsmouth this Week was Ray Berberick, Chairman of the Portsmouth Economic Development Committee (PEDC). He discussed the PEDC's annual report, which he presented to the Town Council last week, along with several new initiatives for the future. Two key recommendations of the PEDC were approved by the Town Council. The first was a Vision Statement for Portsmouth's future which provides a basis for decision-makers to make plans. The second was to look into the concept of an Economic Council for Portsmouth as a way to get Town officials engaged in the process of stimulating economic development.
Mr. Berberick discussed these and other ideas for expanding the Town's revenue base going forward. You can see the interview at http://youtu.be/URVHf01FQ2s
