Tiverton High School Locked Down

The school has been under "lockdown" status since noon.

Administrators at Tverton High School have locked down the school, reportedly beginning around noon today. The reason for the lockdown has not yet been announced.

Town Administrator James Goncalo said everyone is safe and there is no weapon involved, reports EastbayRI.com. Goncalo deferred further questioning to police and fire officials.

An automated phone message informed parents of the lockdown situation, during which time no one is allowed in or out of the building.
