Republicans Claim Three School Board Seats
Facing her first election, Cynthia Perrotti is the big winner.
Voters elected three Republicans and one Democrat to the Portsmouth School Committee, subject to mail ballots yet to be counted.
Only two incumbents—Marjorie Levesque and Cynthia Perrotti—ran for re-election. This was actually Perrotti's first time running for office, and she appears to be the largest vote-getter in the group.
Perrotti was appointed to the School Committee by the Town Council in May 2009. The appointment was made to fill a vacancy on the committee, which was left by Jamie R. B. Heaney.
