Video: 'Music Man' to Woo Portsmouth Audiences with Song Tonight, This Weekend
Portsmouth High School and Middle School students will perform "The Music Man" this Thursday, Friday and Saturday at the high school. Here's a sneak peek of the performance.
Watch out for that trickster Harold Hill this weekend as he tries to sell band equipment and woo audiences at .
Harold Hill, the lead character in Meredith Willson's play The Music Man, will take the high school stage this Thursday, Friday and Saturday at 7 p.m.
Hill, played by Jeff Blanchette, will sing and dance along with the cast consisting of both Portsmouth High School and Portsmouth Middle School students. The show also stars high school senior Sarah DelSanto, who plays the part of Marian Paroo.

This is one of the first and few times middle school students have performed with the high school drama cast. This is also the first time a cast has included fourth and fifth-graders, who are attending the this year for the first time.Â
Grades 4 and 5 were moved to the middle school this fall after the closing of the Elmhurst Elementary School.

The cast held a dress rehearsal Tuesday evening at the high school. To see a sneak peak of this performance, check out the video and photos above.
The Music Man is directed by Meryl Moore and features music by the Portsmouth High School Band under the direction of Edward "Ted" Rausch. Costumes are under the direction of Leslie Asnsworth.
Tickets are $8 for general admission and $5 for students and seniors.
