VIDEO: Portsmouth High Freshmen Get Glimpse of What's to Come
Portsmouth High School welcomed more than 200 freshmen for orientation on Thursday at the high school.

The students were guided into the school by members of the Portsmouth High School Student Council.
The orientation also included a tour of the school, introduction to lockers, meeting with advisers and a presentation from PHS Principal Robert Littlefield and new .

"Today, you are officially Portsmouth Patriots," Krizic told the Class of 2015 at her first assembly at the school
"It's an exciting day for you and for us," said Littlefield, who, after 14 years, is the longest-serving principal at any one school in the state of Rhode Island. "Let's make it a good day, a positive day and create a good first impression."

The freshmen will return to the school to start classes on Aug. 31.
