Viewfinder: Forget the Snow, Flower Businesses Bloom as Spring Arrives

Despite the snow on the ground, spring has arrived on Aquidneck Island.

Prescott Farm, restored and maintained by the Newport Restoration Foundation, is a serene and beautiful place to while away a spring afternoon feeding the ducks and exploring the pathways.

Stop by in the approaching weeks and watch the burgeoning kitchen garden, thoughtfully designed and maintained by URI Master Gardener volunteers, come alive and begin to thrive.

While some of our local garden centers will be opening soon, Island Garden and Chaves’ Gardens are already up and running for the season and awaiting your return after your long winter’s nap.
