Winter is Over Because Frosty Freez is Open
The Aquidneck Island landmark is open for business.

Spring officially started some time ago, but for many residents of Aquidneck Island, it isn’t spring until Frosty Freez opens.
Today’s the day — and it’s no April Fools’ joke. The shop opened at 11:30 a.m. and will keep the lights on until 9 p.m., kicking off another summer for the culinary landmark on East Main Road in Middletown that draws people like flies every season.
In April, Frosty Freez is open daily from 11:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. In May, closing time on Friday and Saturday is extended to 10 p.m. and that ends up the daily schedule starting June 28.

Spring and Frosty Freez have been synonymous since the 1950s.
The current owners, Mark and Kim Pachico of Middletown, bought the business in 2002 and made April 1 the annual opening date.
