Young Artists Featured in "Emerging Artists" Show

The gallery, located in St. Paul's Episcopal Church at 2679 East Main Road, is open this Saturday and Sunday, March 8 and 9, from 1 to 4 p.m.

This weekend, the Portsmouth Arts Guild will be featuring art from local youth.

And based on the caliber of the work featured, you'd be hard pressed to say their work is anything but professional quality.

The gallery, located in St. Paul's Episcopal Church at 2679 East Main Road, is open this Saturday and Sunday, March 8 and 9, from 1 to 4 p.m.

Wayne Quackenbush, president of PAG, told EastBayRI.com that it's the first year that the show has been open to non-Portsmouth students and the long-term plan for the guild is to bring in new members, ideas and artists.

Along with the show, it's National Youth Art Month and more local work will be featured at the Portsmouth Free Public Library, Town Hall and Portsmouth Publick House.
