1. Providence Man Charged With Stealing, Counterfeiting, Conspiracy: Cops (patch.com) — Providence residents may want to know that a 48-year-old city man has been charged with multiple fraud and auto-related offenses after an investigation by the Rhode Island State Police Auto Theft Task Force. He was arrested early Tuesday, processed at the Lincoln Woods Barracks, and arraigned in Sixth Division District Court, where he was released on $10,000 personal recognizance bail.
   

2. Providence Superman Project Gets Up to $9.5M More (upriseri.com) — State economic officials just approved up to $9.5 million more in incentives to help close the funding gap for redeveloping Providence's long-vacant Superman Building into about 308 mixed-income apartments and commercial space. The $326.8 million project still depends on final agreements and a broader financing package, but leaders say the added support aims to bring new housing, jobs, and renewed life to the downtown landmark.
   

3. FBI Warning Triggers Arrest of Providence High School Student (golocalprov.com) — A Central High School student in Providence was arrested Wednesday after the FBI alerted Providence Police to violent threats reportedly posted on Instagram against the school. The principal says there will be an increased police presence on campus and urges families to immediately report any potential threats they see online or elsewhere to school staff or another trusted adult.
   

4. RISD Day Brings Together Research, Partnerships, and Public Exchange During DESIGN WEEK RI (risd.edu) — RISD is inviting Providence residents to a free public "RISD Day" event on September 16 at 20 Washington Place, featuring exhibitions and hands-on conversations about how art and design shape communities. Throughout the day, visitors can explore collaborative projects, join Long Table discussions on civic practice and sustainability, and see how RISD's Providence-based partnerships are influencing Rhode Island's creative future.
   

5. Lawsuit against North Providence mayor will proceed (turnto10.com) — A Superior Court judge has ruled that a lawsuit against North Providence Mayor Charles Lombardi can move forward, keeping some claims by a fired town worker while dismissing others and a claim against the public works director. The town and mayor deny the allegations, and the case now proceeds as Judge Luis Matos, recently nominated to the state Supreme Court, continues to oversee it.
