PROVIDENCE, RI — A Connecticut woman was charged with driving under the influence after a hit-and-run crash in Providence, police said.
Lillia Downing, 24, was arrested shortly after 1 a.m. Friday on charges of DUI and duty to stop for an accident resulting in damage to a vehicle, the Rhode Island State Police said in a media release.
"The arrest was the result of a hit-and-run motor vehicle accident investigation" on Interstate 95, the release said.
Downing was processed at state police headquarters, arraigned by a justice of the peace and released pending an arraignment, according to police.
