Women's A Cappella Chorus Invites Female Singers to Participate in Holiday Show

Pawtucket, Rhode Island, September 26, 2026 — Harmony Heritage Chorus, the Pawtucket, RI chapter of Harmony, Incorporated, an international organization of female a cappella singers specializing in the barbershop harmony style, is inviting female singers of all ages and musical backgrounds to sing with them as guest singers in a special holiday concert to be held at the LaSalette Shrine auditorium in Attleboro, MA.

Beginning October 13th and continuing weekly through early December, guest singers will need to attend the first hour of regular weekly Tuesday night rehearsals, from 7pm-8pm at the chorus's new rehearsal space at Newman Church, 100 Newman Avenue, Rumford, RI. Guests will learn 5 holiday songs, including some old favorites and some lesser known pieces. Rehearsals will culminate with participation in the December 5th A Cappella Holiday Show, featuring singers from three award winning chapters of Harmony, Inc., the Barbershop Harmony Society and SingUnited International.

"We are so excited to be starting our rehearsals at Newman Church!" says Camilla Streeter, chapter president. "Almost every one of our members came for the music, but each of us stayed for the camaraderie and the friendship. Newcomers are always welcome any Tuesday!"

The Harmony Heritage chorus is an award-winning chapter of Harmony, Inc. that performs under the direction of Fred Kingsbury. "It's important to note that barbershop harmony is often considered the "everyman's a cappella," says Kingsbury. "Members don't need to have a lot of musical experience, formal training, or even have the ability to read music. As long as she loves to sing, we have the tools to help her find success in barbershop harmony."

Harmony Heritage chorus primarily sings in the barbershop harmony style, which traces its musical roots back to the turn of the 20th century. Today, barbershop harmony singers not only celebrate the classics, but also put their own spin on contemporary songs as well.

Parking is in the church lot. Newman Church is handicapped-accessible, with an outside ramp and an elevator to the main hall. Rehearsals are in the main hall on first and third Tuesdays. On second and fourth Tuesdays, rehearsals begin in the sanctuary, then move to the main hall.
