• HopeHealth establishes community engagement program, names inaugural director (pbn.com) — HopeHealth in Providence has launched a new Community Engagement Program to better connect local residents with hospice, palliative, and grief support services, led by new director Helena Moronta. Drawing on her community-relations background and work with United Way of Rhode Island and Project GOAL, she'll focus on outreach and education for families across Rhode Island and nearby Massachusetts communities.
   

• Alzheimer's Association to hold fundraising walk in Westerly (thewesterlysun.com) — Local families affected by Alzheimer's can join a Walk to End Alzheimer's in Westerly this weekend, with additional Rhode Island walks scheduled in Providence on October 18 and other communities later in the month. Organizers emphasize free support services, a 24/7 helpline, and the colorful Promise Garden ceremony as they raise funds for care, education, and research.
