Armed Road Rage? Providence Man Pointed A Gun: State Police Allege

Phet Senethip, 34, was arrested following an alleged road rage incident.

PROVIDENCE, RI—A Providence man allegedly pointed a gun at another motorist during an episode of road rage Saturday. Phet Senethip, 34, was charged with felony assault with a dangerous weapon and license or permit required for carrying pistol. He also was cited for possession of less than an ounce of marijuana, state police said.

The victim told Rhode Island State Police it happened around 9:15 p.m. Saturday on Route 6 West, near the merge with Route 10 in Providence.

Troopers found the suspect’s car around 7:15 a.m. Sunday, parked on Ohio Avenue in Providence. "They arrested the driver and seized a loaded handgun and small amount of marijuana from the car," state police said.

Senethip was arraigned before a justice of the peace and released pending a future court date.
