Attempted Carjacking, Shooting Under Investigation In Providence
One person was shot during an attempted carjacking on Elmwood Avenue, according to reports. Police are investigating.
PROVIDENCE, RI — One person was shot during what police say was an attempted carjacking on Tuesday evening, according to reports.
WPRI and NBC 10 News both reported that shots were fired at the intersection of Elmwood Avenue and West Friendship Street around 5:45 p.m.
A large police presence overtook the area shortly after, and video obtained by WPRI captured the sounds of the shooting.

WPRI later confirmed that a man in his 20s arrived at Rhode Island Hospital with a gunshot wound, but the injuries weren't life threatening.
Police are investigating.
