Witnesses opened the bag and were shocked to find two adult cats and four kittens inside the bag in the road.

PROVIDENCE, RI — Animal control officers are trying to find suspects they said threw a bag of live cats out a car window.

Witnesses opened the bag and were shocked to find two adult cats and four kittens inside, Providence Animal Control said. They told animal control they did not get a license plate because they were concerned about getting the cats to a safe location.

Animal control said the animals were clean and looked well-cared for. The two adult cats were wearing flea collars. The cats were picked up on Dedham Avenue.
