Body Of Providence Man Pulled From Seekonk River: Reports

The man and three of his friends were at the Pawtucket Town Landing when the man accidentally fell in the water, police said.

PAWTUCKET, RI — A man's body was recovered from the Seekonk River on Wednesday after police say he fell in the water while hanging out with friends, according to reports.

The victim, identified as a 30-year-old man from Providence, and three friends were at the Pawtucket Town Landing on Taft Street when the man accidentally fell in the water, police told WJAR.

The man's friends called 911, and when police arrived, they were told neither the victim nor his friends could swim, according to a report by ABC 6.

Pawtucket Fire Department and other agencies assisted in the search. Around 11 p.m., the Cumberland dive team recovered the man's body, WJAR reported. The man was pronounced dead at the scene.

The man's body was sent to the Rhode Island Medical Examiner’s office, where his cause of death will be determined, according to reports.
