Body Pulled From Providence River Identified

PROVIDENCE, RI — A body pulled from the Providence River Thursday morning has been identified.

"The deceased has been identified as Prince Dedo, a 36-year-old male," Kristy dosReis, the chief public information officer for the Providence Department of Public Safety, said in an email.

"According to the Office of the Medical Examiner, there are no obvious signs of foul play at this time," dosReis said. A full autopsy will be conducted to determine the official cause and manner of death."

Dedo's body was discovered near the Point Street Bridge, according to dosReis.

The matter remains under investigation by the Providence Police Department, she said.
