PROVIDENCE, RI — If you heard an explosion in Providence this morning, it was likely the Rhode Island State Police Bomb Squad neutralizing a "suspicious package" at Superior Court.
The package was reported around 10 a.m., after which the building was evacuated and the package was detonated, police said.
It was later determined that the package was not an explosive device, according to police.
